Quiet, serene and open were the ideal qualities for this new workshop for a writer. The Broekermeerdijk is an area with extensive stretches of farmland, marked by traditional windmills, farmhouses and dikes. Set amidst the polders that are just 10 minutes to the north of Amsterdam, this scenic landscape is highly typical of the Dutch countryside. It allows one to have a space to reflect and be inspired, without the disturbances or distractions of the chaos of the city.
