program: wind energy study
area: 200.000 m2
design: allard architecture
Allard Architecture was asked to develop visions for future wind turbine placement along the Houtribdijk, which separates the Markermeer from the IJsselmeer.
Through this research process Allard Architecture developed a proposal for wind turbine placements that tackle existing technical and financial difficulties in the maintenance of the Dutch waterworks. This way the new windturbines serve multiple purposes in addition to generating renewable energy.
