The Mirador project is designed to work both visually and physically as a transitional gateway to the nature park beyond. The building narrative has been developed so that connections can be made to the natural landscape.
The building’s form is based on a combination of functional programming, material efficiency, and environmental strategy, with a floor plan that optimizes natural illumination and cross ventilation. The facade material contains photovoltaic cells to supplement energy consumption and reduce solar gain. The green roofs of the building contain vegetative landscape that help regulate the internal temperature and allows for grey water harvesting for use in the building.
