The Blauwe Hallen project involved the transformation of an old metal works factory in the north of Amsterdam into a contemporary art gallery space. Completed in early 2010, the space hosts exhibitions and events to bring together important players in the art world. The design is intentionally subdued to highlight the art and allow the architecture to compliment it. Large frosted glass walls fill the open gallery space which diffuse light suitable for exhibiting art while also providing a comfortable and natural interior setting for the visitors.
